Snow Job

So, we tried to have a snow day on Sunday. We were lazy, though, and packed up the car around noon to head to Mt. Baldy--one of the peaks we can see from our place that regularly gets snow.


It's only about 30 miles from our house, which is fantastic. I complain about this city a lot, but even I have to admit that the nature we can access is pretty amazing. Cole decided to wear his bike helmet for the drive (to climb the mountain, of course) and off we went.



Sigh. Except half of Los Angeles evidently had the same idea, and they turned us back at the mountain pass because the roads were too crowded.

But the gods were smiling on us, because not a mile from where we were stopped, a gleaming, fun-packed park loomed, complete with two-story tornado slide.



Cole was instantly placated, and we ended up having a lovely afternoon.
